Reflection on RGF's iMATTER Campaign
This past week, RGF hosted our first-ever iMATTER campaign, a 4-day opportunity to highlight the voices of our community and an opportunity for YOU to toot your own horn. We felt that there was no better time to focus on self-love than right before Valentine's Day because we believe self-love is key.
After reflecting on your wonderful responses, we wanted to share a few that touched our hearts as you told us the reasons YOU matter, so let’s kick this off with a reflection on the campaign from our founder, Achea Redd:
“Wow! I can’t believe we are already wrapping up our first RGF campaign of 2020. First, I must thank everyone that participated and shared the many reasons why YOU matter. Life moves very fast and sometimes we get so caught up in what we are doing that we don’t take the time to focus on what’s in front of us. That’s why this campaign was so important to me. Every single relationship that we have with others starts with the one we have with ourselves. We will have a better chance at appreciating and seeing the goodness in others if we can see the goodness in ourselves. Keep shining bright beauties.”

“Writing about why my voice matters had me getting a case of imposter syndrome. Often lately I look up and wonder how tf did I get here. Many times I feel unqualified, unprepared, out of place and unwanted. Like I snuck in the back door.
-
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on a panel and laughed like y’all really getting information from me. ME 😂. LoLo? The chick who showed up in sweat pants and watched anime as apart of my prep process. The chick with the nose ring who thinks @godisdope clothing is considered professional apparel (at least I dressed up today as I wear a graphic tee under my blazer).
-
Starting a full Entrepreneur Support Organization has brought self awareness and highlighted the voice I will shamefully admit I sometimes fail to hear. My own voice. Getting out my own damn way and knowing God has equipped me with the JUICE. Ppl on the daily recognize in me what a gift I thought I was impostering.
-
Conclusion: Ya girl ain’t no imposter. To be honest, I’m starting to feel like the female Malcolm X. I can’t be afraid to embrace that. I already know my purpose is to be legendary. I can’t be afraid to live in that. So @realgirlsfart has a dope campaign of why we matter. #iMatter because the world is depending on me to live out my purpose. Why do you matter?”
@dejacierston on Instagram:
“This inward journey of self exploration has not been an easy one. Being a black woman in America has sharpened my creativity in the pursuit for equity and justice. The invisible lines of systemic racism have been barriers that tests my faith to be that much stronger.
-
I am a part of a collective and my intuition is my superpower. I stand on a mountain higher than the Himalayas of courage from my ancestors, honoring their hearts work to meet me where I stand today.
-
I am a product of unconditional love because even in the worst conditions we discover love but not outside of ourselves. Outside of ourselves we learn the power of non-attachment and within ourselves we uncover LOVE, if we choose to do the self work.
-
Every time I take a breath, I am reunited with my ‘wholeness’ in this human form and no-thing or no-one can ever take that away because I AM IMMEASURABLE. POWERFUL and a force to be reckoned with.

I MATTER. YOU MATTER , WE MATTER
