Should A Mom Intervene In Their Kid’s School and Social Situations

In short...To intervene or not to intervene is one of a parent’s, in particular, a mama bear’s, biggest and most frequent questions.A mom’s intervention is completely situational. It’s basically dependent on whether or not the child is capable of handling the situation correctly and efficiently. It also depends on the age of the child.Children need to learn to solve problems on their own in order to become successful adults. Additionally, learning how to fail is one of those skills that we’d all as moms would like our children to never learn. However, failing to teach our children how to fail and recover will hurt and delay their development. Another valuable lesson that our children need to learn is assertion over aggression. This is something that I regularly go through with my 7-year-old daughter. This lesson is essential to her learning how to resolve conflict in relationships. For more on this topic check out the Keeping Real With Keys podcast.
